Where dragonflies dance.

Hear the babbling brook, see the pebbles shine;

Glistening, in the morning rays of light.

Bush creatures stirring, whilst birds take off in flight.

The buzz of bees hovering around the gumtrees

Dragonflies; a rainbow of color, dance above the falls.

Scent of crisp clean water, sparkling and churning,

Tumbling over moss covered rocks.

Seated on the patch of green,

No shoes and no socks, feet dipped into the creek.

Flecks of silver dance in the shallows;

While a long lizard suns itself on a high stone.

Capturing the rays of light to warm its bones.

Fishing pole in hand, finger tweaks the line;

Hoping for a tasty fish to take my bait;

Breakfast in the bush is divine.

With billy already on the boil,

Wet clothes that hang across a tree bough.

Bright coloured tent, flap open wide;

You can see the mess of sleeping bags inside.

Free from the hustle and bustle of city life.

In the bush there are no clocks, aside from the Sun;

No traffic, no pollution, being always on the run.

Tranquil here in nature’s gift.

From this delightful spot, I just don’t want to shift.

Tip forward my hat to shade my face

The bush is simple a wondrous place.
