The words had not come to shock either female, as both knew of the male’s presence long before the dwarf probably knew of theirs. Calypso calmly bowed her head to who she assumed to be a fellow traveler, obliging to his less than friendly request. However, when she was a few paces away, she sighed and turned to raise a brow at the woman. The crone stood her ground, chin held high beneath her layers.
“To think I should live to be told to move by the Prince of Dwarves like I were cattle on the road.”
The ranger kept herself from groaning and turned fully to watch the scene unfold. She now guessed that the hooded woman was most likely an elf of some sort, as no other would dare to speak in such a way to any dwarf, let alone a prince. “My lady, I do believe that this will only lengthen the time of your journey. We will not be sharing the road with Master Dwarf. There is no need to tarry.” The wind caught her hair as she spoke, and blew the stench of rat right up her nose. She closed her eyes and braced herself, refusing to grimace. No matter how this ended, it was going to be a long walk to Haven.
Whilst her eyes were close, the ranger did not notice the woman looking between her and the dwarf. “She’s a pretty thing, isn’t she? So serious though. I don’t understand how, she used to be such a lively little lady.” Calypso opened her eyes and rose a brow, the hazel gaze remaining on the woman, who still looked upon the dwarf. “And where do you journey, m’lord? Surely there is more to you than transporting ale.”
“The Land of Vaas has lost its King and Queen, to the murderous hands of the King of Brax. I brought their bodies back here, to the Pyre so that their souls may be free and be joined every more in heaven. The people are crushed…and their true King is no where to be found. Prince Derek of Casterly. I served the royal house of Brax, and their is a Princess, one of dark and light. Her name is Tempest. Only she can unite the houses, but alas her location alludes me, and here I stand, with no one to serve….and no way of getting to the Castle of angels.”
-Jaliel watched as the Nanny was on her hands and knees speaking as if she was begging for forgiveness as he listened to her words. As he said in a mighty and powerful voice.- ”You summoned Justice for that you are a bold and knowledgeable woman to know of my being. I understand the words you speak for that before anything can be done. You must find it in your heart to see where your service is. I see you serve the higher purpose of peace that I once placed upon this world….” -Jaliel noticed that another had been watching and listening. Only to look at Galain as he thought feeling the presents of his being seeing he was a fool. The youngling asked him thus in those words.-
“Who are you two and what are you doing upon the lands of Vaas?”
-Jaliel heard the words and he did not take kindly to be addressed in a hostile manner. Even
so the youngling would soon find out who he was. As Jaliel spoke to the youngling he said thusly.- [b]”I am Justice itself. I am Jaliel Archangel of Justice. Leader of the Etheral Order.” -he watched as the boy placed his hand on his blade as a precaution. Naturally Jaliel took offense to this to act like you would draw your blade on an Angel not just any angel but justice itself the mantle that speaks for itself. Jaliel placed his hand on his blade only to draw it from its sheath as the blade of Eld’run ((Translation Breaker of Day aka DayBreaker)) as he instantly lashed out at the youngline with his words.- ”If you intend to fight youngling I will cast you down with no second thoughts know you place!”
“I was but a humble Nanny to the Brax family for so long. Before the days of the War. Hard to believe that I would ever serve a higher purpose, but I do what must be done.” Nanny said, looking back at the pyre, that was now collapsing as the bodies were burnt to ash. Little did Jaliel know that she had upon her person a very special vial. One that was carried by a Prince, then a King, then a Queen…then her. The glowing blue liquid like substance which was held within a crystal vial was chained around her neck, after the Queen had failed to use it. It was the Vial, of Orion.
But as the two spoke, another entered the fray. One that barked angrily at the two as though they had committed trespass.
“Who are you two and what are you doing upon the lands of Vaas?”
Before Nanny could speak, Jaliel was first to respond. Rising up he saw the youngling place his hand on the hilt of his blade, as though a show that he was willing to use the sword if the need arose.
”I am Justice itself. I am Jaliel Archangel of Justice. Leader of the Etheral Order.”
“I am just a servant. Forgive my trespass.”
Nanny stepped back and curtseyed, unsure of how this would go. Jaliel seemed keen to test the youngling, declaring loudly:
”If you intend to fight youngling I will cast you down with no second thoughts know you place!”
Oh dear….

“To think I should live to be told to move by the Prince of Dwarves like I were cattle on the road.”
The look on Bramt’s face was one of surprise and annoyance. This old woman knew who he was, and didn’t take kindly to be told to move her ass. The dwarf seemed to be taking in a very deep breath and holding it, as though counting in his mind before releasing a very rude tirade that may include some colored words. But instead, he let out a huge snort via his nostrils, which made his mustache sway back and forth.
“Now see here, I never referred to you as cattle, but you are bloody acting like it. Defiantly standing on a road, which is built for carts and horses.” Bramt spat in a gruff voice. This woman was holding up his journey, and he didn’t like it one little bit. To make matters worse, she called him the Prince of Dwarves. Now, he thought he had a pretty clever disguise, and yet this woman saw right through it.
“And don’t be calling me the Prince of Dwarves. I’m nowhere near my Kingdom, so its just Bramt, got it?” He said to the woman, leering down from his cart menacingly. He really was a grouch. The ranger piped up and asked the dwarf of where he was headed, and since she asked politely, he obliged her.
“There be an inn near the Haven Castle of the Casterly. That is where this shipment of wine and ale is heading. Been travelling from the coast a few days now, so I am keen to get there, before sundown.” Bramt said, repacking his pipe while he waited for the woman on the road to move. Cause clearly she wasn’t. With one eye closed as he lit his pipe again, he asked of the ranger.
“You’re a long way from home, aren’t you?” He figured by her dress that she was from the Lands of old, but he could be wrong.

The dull creaking of the ships timbers along with the gentle splash of the waves against the hull soothed the Prince, as he was rocked to sleep by the ship’s own natural pitch. He had grown to love the sea, with all its majesty and mystery. However he had to return home, for he had a terrible feeling in his gut that all was not well. Eyes closed and dozing quietly, he would be startled by the sudden cry of the cabin boy in the crow’s nest.
“Land ho!”
There was the scurry of footsteps, as the crew burst to life at the sighting of land, and Derek jumped out of his cot, grabbing his hat and plonking it firmly on his head, before leaving his quarters and racing up the stairs to the main deck, where the crew were already working hard, to adjust the sails, and bring the ship into port. Reaching round for his eyeglass, he snapped it open, extending it out before placing it up to his eye and seeing for himself, the Port city of Shamersmoth in the distance. There was much excitement by the crew, who had been at sea so long, that they looked forward to the chance of a good meal and a pretty wench to take to bed.
The sails burst into life as they harnessed the wind and the ship ploughed through the water at increased speed. The first mate approached the Captain, stopping short of him and beamed.
“We be there within the hour, Captain. Ah..the good city of Shamersmoth. Fine ale and women with huge tits.” he said, gesturing with his hands in a fashion that would demonstrate exactly the size woman he wanted. Derek didn’t dissuade him from being so cheerful, he simply patted his back, and went up to the top deck and stood in shy of the wheel master. So long at sea, and now to be on land once more. What was waiting for them, when they made the docks?
The Docks.
Sailing in past many a vessel, the ship finally weighed its anchor over the side and threw out support ropes, to bring the ship safely up alongside the long wooden docks. The gangway was placed down between the ship and the dock, and the crew cheered, at the sight of the other ships that were docked. It was going to be a fine night for drinking and celebrating; tall stories and whoring. Many had purses filled with silver to buy what they fancied on land, and many were already salivating at getting a good hearty meal. No more dried fish and stale biscuits. A small crew were picked to remain on board the ship for the first rotation, and though there were a few groans, some traders were waiting on the docks to ply them all manner of goods, so they wouldn’t be missing out completely.
Dressed in his best coat and hat, Prince Derek saw to his men, and then headed down the gangway, heading for the nearest inn, where he hoped to get a good ale, and hear the latest news from the inn keeper. If it was one thing for certain, these inns were excellent for finding out the goings on of the royal houses and the kingdoms at war. He boldly strutted down the docks, tipping his hat to the painted ladies, and giving sly looks to those other pirates that would easy twist a knife in your back when you weren’t looking. They say there is honor amongst pirates…but not all the time. With his cutlass sheathed to his waist, and a long sash that fluttered along his leg as he walked with a jaunty way, the Captain Prince looked every bit a pirate, and in no way, the Prince of Casterly; the true heir to the throne of Vaas.
The Donkey’s Dick
Coming up to the main street, Derek saw that many a man was heading into the famed Inn “The Donkey’s Dick.” Sure, the name would put many a man off his breakfast, but it was known to have the best ale and wenches around. He gave his hat a bit of tug, pulling it down slightly, before reaching for the door handle, and yanking it open.
Inside it was jam packed with all manner of folk, from the dirt poor, to the very rich and drunk. Loud laughter echoed across the sounds of pipe music being played by a stick of a man in the corner. A parrot on a stand near the door squawked angrily, and Derek gave it a filthy look, before pushing his way through the crowd to the bar, where he managed to find a place to lean against the old oaken bar.
Seeing a ripe and busty bar maid, he called out. “Mug of your finest ale.” Taking out a piece of silver and tossing it on the bar top. Two nearby traders were deep in conversation, and their voices loud, since they had had one too many drinks.
“Right shame about the King and Queen. I hear their bodies were dumped in an unmarked grave. I’m not one for royals, but…still ya would think they would have returned the bodies.”
Prince Derek’s heart nearly stopped. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. The barmaid slid him his drink, taking the silver, and the Prince was too shocked to drink it. Slowly, Derek approached them, and asked.
“What’s this about the King and Queen being dead?”
Both men stopped talking, and then saw the Pirate Captain standing before them, with a thunderous look. Odd for a pirate to care about the royals. One trader shrugged, and decided to tell him.
“At the end of the war, King Henry’s wife was kidnapped by the King of Brax’s bitch. Taken back, while he was busy fighting the demon army. Word has it, he went to save her…by himself with no knights..nothing. Bit I heard after that, the King of Demons ran him through with his sword, and the Queen…well, she died short there after. That’s all I know. Nation’s been in mourning ever since. It’s in a right state. There is no word of the True King. Their son…er…Derek, I think his name is. Some…uncle is care taking the throne. Ira Casterly.”
This was a great deal to take in for the Prince. First the shock to hear his parents were dead…then to hear that he was the heir to the throne. Did he even want the position? He just nodded silently, and went back to get his ale from the bar. Standing there for a moment, he ran his thumb over the frosty mug, before going to a small booth at the back. He didn’t want to speak to another soul. Inside, his heart was breaking. He may not have been close to his parents, but he loved them just the same.

Calypso could feel the smile radiating off the woman once again, and within seconds the ranger knew her employers plans. “N-”
“Well, Bramt, if you so wish to be referred to as an equal, perhaps you wouldn’t mind giving us a ride? We venture to Haven as well, and have a pretty sum to pay you.” The ranger barely contained her grown, breaking her assumed eye contact with the woman and turning to face away from both. The woman leaned closer to Bramt, her tone lowering beyond Calypso’s hearing range. “She’s done a lot for Casterly in her life. She’s a very good friend of mine, but she’s broken. I’m trying to take her to someone that can fix her before I pass on from this world. Please, aid us in this journey for the sake of the Lands you supply if not for our own sakes. I fear there is danger around the bend, and it will do us all good to form tight alliances in this time of peace.”
Meanwhile, Calypso was cursing everything that could have crossed their paths. Weather, time, God. Anything. She dared not turn around, she simply awaited the dwarf’s answer quietly, her red hair flowing in the wind as she tried to keep the scent from following the same pass.
The Donkey’s Dick
“And I also know that Garf is a raging alcoholic.” Cheers, laughter, a small grunt of embarrassment, and many mugs thumping together erupted in the booth next to the one that the Prince had (unbeknownst to the inhabitants) just occupied. Because of her gift, Mithrildanne had immediately become the center of most entertainment in the pub since she arrived just the day before. She’d seen and recognized most of the men since birth and they soon found themselves testing who she was. The testing and questioning was only just now letting up. She’d not slept, but she was otherwise well-kept. “And what about the white bitch of old? Where’s she now?”
The Watcher tilted her head to the side. “I do not believe she would appreciate my telling you.” Boos replaced the cheers, but it was all in good fun. “Perhaps you should all be back to work?” “Aye, she means she’s tired of us already! Lass, tell me you’ve had a drink?” Mithrildanne nodded, but she’d only had one. The Watcher could not simply become intoxicated on a whim. She needed to be aware. But perhaps because she was no longer required in any services to a house she could… allow herself one night of whatever she wished to do. At that a smile broke out on her face and she stood, clearing her throat. Silence fell, though she did not expect it. In the silence, her voice rang out somewhat meekly. “But I could always do with another.”
She laughed as the cheers broke out again, her laugh carrying above the noise as she moved her way out of the throng, finally finding a clear space in front of what she assumed to be an empty booth.
-Jaliel heard the youngling speak as he still had his sword pointed straight up as he sighed only to hear the words of complete disrespect. It was the first time that Jaliel had felt the Angels have lost their way. Jaliel’s wings expanded as his glory that was still glowing around him started to glow brighter from his body as he pulled his shield from his back showing it was a kite shield only to have his sword to his side as he said.- “It seems that you have lost your ways to respect your superiors. I shall make this quick for you youngling. These insults are unacceptable the others of the Etheral Order would hunt you done if I did not do so by my own hands. I shall make it painless.” -the El’drun blade started to glow with the glory that came from Jaliel as he spoke in the old tongue of the Angel’s only few would know of this youngling seemed to be too young and arrogant to repair his wrongs. His sins must be purged from this world.- “AR OL sins NOASMI OL ETHARZI NOSTOAH OLANI VMD NIIS OIAD MALPRG OL OIAD OADRIAX OI MALPRG LONCHO OI NENNI lost LONSHIN ways. NOALN NOSTOAH NOASMI I find ETHARZI CAPIMALI OIAD MALPRG OL BALTIM wash LONSHIN sins NIISO LOAGAETH OI!” ((Translation: Those of sins be at peace as i call forth the flame of the heavens that burn all that have lost their ways. May it be they find peace after the flames of Justice wash their sins away from this world)) his sword had the glory needed from when he had been summoned his Glory was shining and had not disappeared. His sword instantly turned Jaliel’s own glory and energy into the flames that burned in a spiritual blue fire as it started to rage. Jaliel had enough of his insults only to hear more. He quickly charged Galain as he said swinging down his blade in an attempt to kill Galain.- “BE GONE AND LIVE IN ANOTHER LIFE YOUNGLING!” -his powers were being used yet he was not able to throw the flames since they were not yet ready for such power he would still need a little bit. Could this youngling go toe to toe with Justice? Or would he find that this is the end of his days as a General he so claimed?-
Galain spun about almost in a blur before roaring his outrage while in the same motion drawing his blade and moving it into place to block the incoming blow having heard the clatter of armor as the Arch Angel of Justice surged into motion. YOU DARE STRIKE WHILE YOUR FOE’S BACK IS TURNED!!!!” Oh Galain was enraged now and being such the runes written upon his body exploded into life and shattered exposing his true name sake and his ascendance to the Angel of death. Oh now Jaliel had dug himself a grave he was not likely to escape from. Then as one his armor became flowing black robes complete with a hood that masked his face. His greatsword took the impact of the blow with a mighty crash of blades crashing together. With blades locked and his wings unfurling the Angel of death would speak in a lifeless voice. “You might be Justice…..but your judgement holds no sway over me…let us end this farce and prevent needless bloodshed..” All the while their two blades remained locked for the time being. With their blades locked Galain now the angel of death would watch the Arch Angel of Justice carefully waiting for the right moment to disengage and launch his counter attack. The Angel of Death would speak again in the same lifeless voice as before. “If you would kindly back off as i recant my words….though let it be known I answer to the King of Vaas alone…” Galain would then turn from the Arch Angel of Justice before walking off without a further word with his robes dragging behind him providing the Arch Angel did as kindly requested of him.
