Words once said, by an actress on the screen
When we grow old, our hearts die.
I feel like the writer told a nasty lie.
Now I plan to tell you why.
The older you get, the more you see.
Expanding knowledge, like a tree,
Whose limbs grow ever outward
Leaves do fall, some brown and torn.
But always green shoots start anew
Just like the ideas, that we homebrew.
For our body may wrinkle,
whither and grey
However in our hearts
It’s always the darling days of May.
So never fear or fret
For the best days of our lives,
haven’t happened yet.
