In the darkest hour.
Sorrow mixed with pills.
Booze, photos and an empty room.
The shell of a man sat alone.
Messages left, that were heard too late.
A singer’s life, an entertainer’s fate.
Cut short too soon,
so many left to wonder why.
So beloved by millions.
yet he was to die.
Forever more.
Forever young.
Never forgetting Australia’s son.
So as I play his final song.
I ask myself….what went wrong?
A mad moment in despair.
In a world that simply didn’t care.
Tears shed and hearts heavy.
Yet in the sky, a shining light.
A new star glows tonight.
